How It Works
- Choose a mode. Switch between countdown and stopwatch mode at the top of the timer.
- Set your duration. Pick a preset like 1, 5, or 25 minutes, or enter a custom hours, minutes, and seconds value.
- Start the timer. Click Start or press Space. Press it again to pause and resume.
- Reset or repeat. When time is up, press R to reset and start again. Keep the tab open to hear the alert.

Is this online timer free to use?
Yes, completely free with no limits, ads, or registration. All timing happens locally in your browser, so there is no account and no tracking of your sessions.
Can I use multiple timers at once?
The current page runs a single active timer. To track multiple timers at once, open the page in additional browser tabs — each tab keeps its own independent timer and sound alert.
Does the timer work offline?
Yes. Once the page has loaded, the timer continues to run without an internet connection. Just keep the browser tab open and the countdown or stopwatch will keep ticking.
What happens when the timer ends?
When the countdown reaches zero, a sound alert plays and a notification appears if you have allowed notifications. The display stays at zero so you can see that the time is up.
Can I use keyboard shortcuts?
Yes. Press Space to start or pause the timer, and press R to reset it. Shortcuts work as long as the page is focused.
Does the timer keep running if I close the tab?
No. Closing the tab stops the timer because everything runs in your browser. If you need a reminder while away, set a longer-running alarm in the Alarm tool or use a countdown link that you can reopen.
