How It Works

  1. Start a focus session. Pick a task, then press Start or Space to begin a 25-minute focus session. Work on that single task until the timer rings.
  2. Take the short break. When focus ends, take a 5-minute short break. Step away from the screen, stretch, or grab water.
  3. Repeat for 4 cycles. Run three more focus sessions with short breaks in between. The timer counts each completed pomodoro.
  4. Take a long break. After 4 focus sessions, take a 15-minute long break to fully recharge before the next round.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method that uses 25-minute focus sessions followed by 5-minute breaks. After 4 focus sessions, you take a longer 15-minute break to recharge before the next round.

Can I customize the Pomodoro durations?

Yes. You can customize the focus time, short break, long break, and the number of cycles before a long break. Try 50/10 for deep work or 15/3 for lighter tasks.

Does the Pomodoro timer play ambient sounds?

Yes. If you enable ambient sound in settings, it plays automatically during focus sessions and stops during breaks, helping you get into and stay in a flow state.

What keyboard shortcuts are available?

Press Space to start or pause the timer, and R to reset the current session. Shortcuts work whenever the page is in focus.

Does the timer track my completed pomodoros?

Yes. The timer counts each completed focus session and shows the running total for the day. Pair it with the task list to see how many pomodoros each task took.

Is the Pomodoro timer free and private?

Yes, completely free with no account required. Your tasks and pomodoro counts stay in your browser, so nothing is sent to a server.
